Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park in Nainital district of Uttarakhand remains the oldest national park in India. Fauna
Endangered Bengal tiger remains the key lure of Jim Corbett National Park. Leopards can be spotted in both hilly areas as well as in the low land jungles. Other mammals found in the park are barking deer, sambar deer, hog deer and chital, sloth and Himalayan black bears, etc. Those visiting here during summer months can enjoy sighting large herds of Indian elephants. Apart from these, Jim Corbett National Park is also home to over 586 species of resident and migratory birds some of which include crested serpent eagle, blossom-headed parakeet and the red junglefowl.

Flora
Flora in Jim Corbett National Park is impressive. Here you can find a total of 488 different species of plants. Density of trees here is good with Sal dominating most of the areas.

Zones
Jim Corbett National Park is divided into various safari zones.

Dhikala Zone
Dhikala is the largest zone of the Park and houses numerous comfortable forest lodges for travellers. The zone is blessed with flourishing natural beauty and lets you explore some exotic fauna species, including the Bengal Tigers, Elephants, Deer, Chital, Vulture, Teal, Dove, Crocodile, Cobra, etc.

Jhirna Zone
This is another important zone located 16 kilometers from Ramnagar. The zone is known for spotting the wild bear. One can rent accommodation in this zone for an exciting wildlife stay experience.

Bijrani Zone
Bijrani Zone is blanketed with lush sal forests and swaying grasslands. Visit here and explore its diversified flora species. Some of the commonly spotted species here include Elephants, Monkeys, Tigers, Chital and Deer. Travellers can easily find forest rest house accommodation here.

Durga Devi Zone
This is a perfect heaven for bird watchers. From Grey Headed Fishing Eagle to Black Chinned Yuhina, Maroon Orile, etc. you can find some of the most beautiful bird species here.

Sitabani Buffer Zone
Sitabani Zone is not exactly under the Corbett Tiger Reserve. This is basically a buffer forest area where you can have a great birding experience.
