Laad Bazaar
It is a very old market in Hyderabad that specialises for the selling of bangles and pearls. Lacquer is used to make these dazzling bangles, which often have artificial diamonds studded on it. One can also buy Kalamkari paintings, silverware, hand-woven fabrics and perfumes here.
Golconda Fort
The ruined vestiges of this fort are located 11 km away from Hyderabad. Its name means ‘shepherd’s hill.’ Rules of Kakatiya dynasty had built it on a majestic granite hill. Crenelated ramparts envelope the fort. Initially, it was also used as a prison.
Hussain Sagar
It is one of the largest man-made lakes, located at the merging point of Hyderabad, Begumpet and Secunderabad. Built in 1575, it connects Secunderabad with Hyderabad. A majestic statue of Gautama Buddha stands erected from 1992 in the middle of an island in this lake, adding to its tourist attractions.
Birla Mandir
Hundreds of pilgrims from all over the world come to worship at this Hindu Temple, built over a 280 feet tall hillock called as Naubath Pahad. It presents a rich blend of Utkala, Rajasthani and Dravidian architecture. It is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara.
Makkah Masjid
Also called as Mecca Masjid, it is one of the most revered and oldest mosques in Hyderabad. In fact, it is also acknowledged as one of the largest mosques in Hyderabad. It was built during the Qutb Shahi dynasty.
