Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church

The Saint Xavier’s Chapel is a distinct attraction of the Church. In fact, it’s believed that its church bells are the second largest in the world.


Shanta Durga Temple
This largest temple complex is located in Kavalem village near Panaji. It is dedicated to Goddess Shanta Durga, who mediates in between Lord Shiv and Lord Vishnu. It is believed that the original temple was destroyed by the Portuguese in 1564 and from then on, this temple complex has witnessed several rounds of renovations.

Baga Beach
It is one of the most popular beach destinations in North Goa. Fishing boats and row of shacks can be easily spotted here. It is famous also for Dolphin cruises, water sports and parasailing.


Se Cathedral
It is one of the most religious and ancient buildings of Goa. This is dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria and bears the vestiges of the Portuguese past. In fact, its final edifice is bigger than any other church in Portugal itself.


Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary
This estuarine mangrove sanctuary is named after the eminent Indian ornithologist Salim Ali. It is embroidered by the River Mandovi. It is situated on the western tip of the Chorao Island. It is a paradise for bird watchers.


Goa State Museum
It is located in Panjim and is known for preserving 8000 artefacts, stone sculptures, carvings, wooden objects, rare coins and other anthropological objects. Several Hindu and Jain artefacts are also preserved here.
